Golf – Three world-class golf courses are currently being built in North East Bulgaria.
These golf courses provide an obvious benefit to the canny investor and to those who enjoy playing the game throughout the whole year. Black Sea Rama, a championship course, that has been designed by Gary Player (expected to open May 2007)
This 7218 metre, par 72, championship golf course is located on the cliffs at Balchik, which is less than 40 minutes drive from Varna airport . The clubhouse is situated in a prominent location to take full advantage of the vast panoramic sea views. The clubhouse will contain all the typical facilities such as locker rooms, pro shop, restaurants, bars and lounges. There will also be an extensive outdoor seating area where the players can sit and have drinks and meals whilst watching the play on the 18th green.
The Lighthouse Resort that has been designed by Ian Woosnam (opening December 2007)
This 6747 yard, par 71, championship golf course is also located on the outskirts of Balchik, just 35 kilometers away from Varna airport. The golf course is pitched on a spectacular plateau with breathtaking sea views. The Lighthouse also offers a private beach, a modern, state-of-the-art clubhouse, a Lighthouse Golf School - practice ground, putting green, bunker area and pitch ‘n' putt, a Wellness Centre, offering traditional and alternative therapies, an indoor and outdoor heated adult and children's swimming pools, a sports centre with outdoor sports pitches and tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, sailing and wide variety of water sports facilities, a horse riding and equestrian centre and an exclusive selection of cafes and retail outlets.

A championship course, that has been designed by Gary Player (expected to open 2007- 08)
This 7008 yard, par 71 championship course is located in on the beach just 40 minutes north of Varna. The course is built on 145 hectares of south facing land that will also offer 5* hotels, a marina, a driving range and a hydrotherapy spa centre .
With a nearby yacht marina to be constructed and further international golf courses planned, Balchik in North East Bulgaria is set to become the most exclusive area on the Black Sea Coast and a centre for golfing and sailing.
